Writer. Performer. Podcaster. Creative Consultant.

Greetings. My name is Ryan Somers. I am a writer, performer, actor, podcaster, and creative consultant.

I have lived and worked in London, Toronto, Los Angeles, and Vancouver. I began writing in the late 90s, when I founded Divine Styler Magazine (available as a book), then went on to become a columnist and music editor at Vice Magazine in the 00s, while also freelance writing for various publications and websites, including Urb, RapPages, Spin, RapEnRagga (France), Hip-Hop Connection (UK), and Inside Entertainment. I have also written and recorded a few albums as one half of the indie hip-hop group OK Cobra, toured Canada, the USA, and Europe a number of times, and been nominated for several awards including “Song of the Year” by CBC Radio Canada.

Currently, I live in a small cabin in the woods by Lake Huron, Ontario, Canada, where I work as a writer, editor, podcaster, and creative consultant, as well as spending my time writing songs, trail running, learning archery, restoring my ‘77 VW van, and doing cool Dad stuff with my young daughter River.

I am also an advocate for late-diagnosed Autistic adults — having recently been diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder Level 1 — through my podcast The Life Autistic.

I am available for writing, editing, creative consulting, speaking engagements, and more, and can be reached at: ryan@ryansomers.com
